Meet Our Team!
Maya Li Preti
Marketing and Communications Lead
Born and raised in Toronto, Maya Li Preti (she/her) is always looking for ways to build stronger, more connected communities at home. She found a passion for fostering community engagement and championing marginalized voices while working for local non-profits. When not analysing pandemic policy for her day job she loves telling stories through different media, be it music, theatre, film, or design. Outside of work, she spent the last year hiking, improving her spice tolerance, overanalyzing sitcoms, and developing exciting programming with the rest of the Videatur team.
Alice Wang
Programming Lead
Alice Wang (they/sher) is a Chinese-Canadian filmmaker based in Toronto. As day jobs, Alice has worked as a production coordinator at CBC Kids, Industry Producer at Canadian Film Fest and Manager of Programming at Regent Park Film Festival. ¼ of Videatur Collective, they’re passionate about supporting youth from underrepresented communities in film and run programming to help QTBIPOC filmmakers in creating their first short films.
As a creative, Alice’s films have received Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council funding and have been screened at Inside Out Film Festival, Vancouver Asian Film Festival, and Canadian Film Festival. Currently working on longer form content, Alice has an upcoming web series Rent A Girlfriend that has received IPF production funding. An RBC Emerging Director’s Award recipient, a participant of the BIPOC TV and Film Episodic Lab, 2024 Netflix x BANFF diversity of voices pitch participant, and part of the 2023 Reelworld Emerging 20 cohort, Alice gravitates towards telling stories about loss, acceptance, and belonging with nuanced perspectives on family dynamics and self actualization.
Kat Zhang

Kat Zhang (she/her) is a queer and Chinese-Canadian actor, born in the JiLin province of China and raised in Richmond, beautiful British Columbia. An alumni of Queen’s University, Kat has a rich background in theatre, and now works as a film and television actor in Toronto. Her recent work can be found on AppleTV / pop-up banking ads you desperately wish to escape and skip from! In between working on set, Kat can be spotted bartending in Yorkville, planning the next Videatur short films showcase, or performing in outrageously funny and wild charity theatre shows. She works hard to continuously improve her craft and career, and to give back to the QTBIPOC film community. Kat wishes to tell all the beautiful stories she can through her artistry, from the mundane to the extraordinary.
